kennels
welcome

Do you love dogs or maybe you have just lost a faithful friend, a much loved and missed companion? Would you consider giving a chance of life and hope to a less fortunate dog?
IF THE ANSWER IS YES. Then there is a positive way to help, please consider the Pet Rescue’s sponsor a kennel block scheme, there are several types of kennel blocks and each block can save many lives in a year.
The number of dog’s lives we can save depends on the number of kennels available this fall into various categories.

OAP long term kennels, we never put an animal to sleep irrespective of age. All our older residents are provided with the warmth, security and veterinary care they require to lead a happy and peaceful life in our care.

Long Term Care Service
If you are concerned about your pets should you need to go into a Nursing Home / Sheltered accommodation / hospital / hospice? If you are terminally ill, unable to care for your pets then our long term care service could help ease you concerns. We can also make arrangements for their care if they are bereaved. With all our facilities at the rescue or in one of our supported foster homes, their future is safe and you wishes carried out for your peace of mind. Please contact us for further information.

Isolation / sickness kennel block, All new intakes are placed into individual kennels and are given a full health check by our vet, de-fleaed, wormed and the inoculations are started.
They are assigned a kennel carer who starts the assessments / re-training program.

Operational kennel blocks both indoor and outdoors, all are heated providing sheltered sleeping areas, individual runs and security with comfort until a new owner is found.

Lord Langford block housing a new development (2007) of 20 more kennels providing shelter, warmth and security for dogs that would have been put to sleep because their owners did not re-claim them after they strayed. They will receive all the love, care and rehabilitation required so they can start a new life with a very special new family.

Indoor Training / Rehabilitation Centre. (2007) the animals in our care may not have received any basic training from their past owners or they arrive very afraid even some with the most horrible physical or mental traumas. It takes time, patience and awareness of dog behaviour. It’s very rewarding to see a pet well behaved on and off the lead, to see a wreak find confidence, a shadow of a dog reach fitness. Training and behaviour advice is also provided for local pet owners. Other dog training clubs will have the use of the facilities too.

Annual dog show and fund raising day.
Where the dogs from the rescue come to show us all how well they are in their new homes, bringing the family with them. There are lots of fun things to do and prizes to win, photos to take. You could name and sponsor a class or a cup, help with prizes. It’s a great day for pet and families and its so rewarding for all the volunteers to see the results of their hard work too. We also incorporate a KC companion dog show on the same day so every one from the pet pooch to the pedigree dog and owner are included.
